T Table
2016
Eastern white pine

Milled at Thompson Native Lumber in Rhode Island where James Thompson has been running the mill after his father for the last 50 years.

While visiting the Thomspon mill Lisa saw the largest dimension, rough-cut pine come out off the belt. She requested they cut a piece as large as possible. A 20x20 length of pine went into making the T Table. Figuring out how to square up the ends and chainsaw out the middle joint kept the project at the border of control.

Timber framing relies on large beams, but these are not big enough to hold space as individual pieces. The desire to see wood milled large enough for each piece to stand on its own was the motivation that led to making T Table.
